November Outfit Inspiration Calendar

Daily Outfit - 9/21/11

Here's a blast from the past look - - well, not that long ago but a week ago this past Friday. The outfit inspiration was cream, leopard and red. My first thought was a red scarf with a leopard shoe, but I discovered I don't have a red pashmina (I've since then remedied that!). So I did the reverse and went with a leopard scarf and deep red shoes.

Daily Outfit - 10/27/11

Today called for a professional look, so I grabbed this black dress and jacket that have both been in my closet for a while. I kept the accessories minimal just wearing my everyday earrings and three bracelets and added a strand of pearls. As much as I love flash and accessories, some days it feels good to be minimalistic.

Daily Outfit - 10/26/11

When I stumbled upon this argyle sweater jacket a couple of weekends ago at a thrift store I was thrilled. I had been pinning a lot of camel and black/grey combos on pinterest and was wanting to add some of the color combo to my closet. When I saw that it had an International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union tag inside I was even more excited (I love clothes with a history). Oh yeah, and I was absolutely thrilled that it was only $2.75!

Daily Outfit - 10/25/11

It was another gorgeous day with sunshine and temps almost 70, so I decided to celebrate being tights-free and had lunch outside (unfortunately it looks like it will be the last day like it for a long while). My mom picked up this great dress for me last week. I decided to dress down the satin on it a bit with a grey cardigan and finished off with these fun heels and a strand of large pearls.

Who would have thought I would be going bare-legged in the last week of October. The temps were going to be in the high 60s today and this is one of those combos that would have been hard to do with tights thrown in the mix. I did keep the look from being too summery with the brown based floral print on the sweater.

Weekend Wear - 10/22/11 & 10/23/11

I seldom share weekend looks, but I wore a couple of favorite pieces this weekend. I just had to share them.

First off on Saturday I had plans to go thrift shopping with a friend, so I thought what better outfit to wear than one made up of mostly thrifted pieces.

On Sunday I went to a movie with my mom (Footloose - I adore any "dance movie"), lunch and grocery shopping. I wanted to wear this great new top my mom had bought for me.

Daily Outfit - 10/20/11

Another day of rain . . . yuck! I honestly felt like slipping on a Forever Lazy (seriously, how ridiculous is this thing?!), but opted to wear this dress from eShakti that I received this week. It's just as comfy, but so much more pretty!

Outfit Inspiration - Call for November Calendar Submissions!

November will be here before you know it and I need your fabulousness to help with the month's Inspiration Calendar!

I love showing all shapes, sizes and styles in the monthly Outfit Inspiration Calendar. The best way to do this is by showcasing "Real Women" - - YOU! Please submit a full-length picture of yourself in an outfit along with a quick synopsis of the look (i.e. stripes with magenta, layer a skirt over a dress). The picture can be something you have worn recently, last winter, etc. Just keep in mind the majority of the readers are experiencing fall/cool temps right now, so your outfit featuring a tube top and daisy dukes might not be the best! :-)

Daily Outfit - 10/19/11

I've had on my "wish list" a "dressy denim" skirt for a while now since my last one no longer fit. When I spied this one at Goodwill this past Friday I was thrilled. I washed it was ready to go to wear it on "pencil skirt" day per the Outfit Inspiration I pulled together for the week. It only made sense to pair it with the striped blouse that I thrifted during the same shopping trip. To finish off the look I went with some pattern mixing with the shoes instead of the red pair of heels I initially thought about wearing.

Daily Outfit - 10/18/11

My outfit inspiration for today was Casual Dress, Scarf and Boots. It was the perfect combination for a rainy, cool day, so I grabbed this convertible dress (check out all the ways you can use the built-in ties below) and a pair of flat black boots that I recently purchased.  I opted to go for a small, more stream-lined look with the scarf since there was so much going on with the ties on the dress already.

I had every intention of following the inspiration outfit of a vest and full skirt, but then I had this newly thrifted dress ready to go. It was such a simple thing to slip on bright and early on a Monday morning.

Daily Outfit - 10/14/11

Friday's inspiration picture is one of my favs. It showed stripes layered over stripes and a bright shoe. Unfortunately, I didn't have a striped shirt similar to the black and white one that was worn as the under layer, so I opted to go with black and white polka dot one. I really liked the final look.

I stopped by a Goodwill at the end of the day (had a little time to kill between work and meeting up with the fam for dinner). What do you know, I found a black/white striped shirt almost exactly like the one in the inspiration picture (of course I bought it because I can't get enough stripes!).  The Goodwill Gods were kind to me yet again (now, if only I could have fit into the size 36 Escada Blazer I spotted there).
