Fab Wedding Dresses at Fab Prices

checkitout

You all know I love fab finds under $50, but sometimes you just have to drop a little bit more money. One of things that usually takes a bit more moo-lah is a wedding dress.

Daily Outfit - 04/27/11

We still are having lots of grey weather here in Indianapolis, so I decided to brighten things up and wear some color. I bought this dress back in February when everything was covered in ice and snow just knowing that it would make me happy come warmer weather, and that it did. It seemed to make other people happy too because I got lots of compliments from people while running some errands.

Dress w/ Belt - Forever 21, $33 (Feb. 2011)
Denim Jacket - hand me down from my mom
Navy Blue Leggings - Burlington Coat Factory, part of a 3 pack on clearance for $8 (March 2011)
Sandals - Clarks via 6pm.com, on sale for $28 (Jan. 2011) (I have to say I'm not usually attracted to Clarks shoes, but couldn't pass up the sale on these this past January.  I may need to rethink this brand because man oh man, are they comfy!)

For a gal that likes skirts and dresses so much I have been wearing a lot of pants and jeans recently. They just seem to be fitting in with my more casual lifestyle lately. I did switch it up and went with a pair of ponte knit pants that I rolled up a bit. Also, I decided to do a bold pattern mix with polka dots and doves.  I wanted to do outdoor pics today, but the 30 mph wind gusts had a different idea . . . maybe tomorrow.

Polka Dot Tee - City Chic, sale for $13 (Feb. 2011)

Nuts for Neutrals

Inspiration

As much as I love bright colors and adding a "pop of color" to an outfit I still felt myself being drawn to this neutral look Lauren Conrad wore recently.

So, I thought I would pull together some great neutral dresses and heels all for under $50.

When you think of Easter you usually think of colorful pastels, but this past Sunday I opted to go with neutrals for Easter Brunch. I thrifted this blazer a while back and love the classic color and styling of it. When I saw this brown and white stripe shirt I told myself at first that I didn't need anymore stripes, but since I don't have much brown and it was less than $10 I grabbed it.

Stripe Tee - Avenue, on sale for $10 (April 2011)
Blazer - Thrifted, $3 (March 2011)
Necklace - Avenue, on sale for $10 (April 2011)
Jeans - Faded Glory via Walmart, $12 (April 2011)
Nude Sandals - Forever 21, $26 (April 2011)

As many of you know I am loving Pinterest lately.  Seeing all of the great fashion, home decor and more is so fun.  With that I thought I would add a new little feature to FFUF.  Every Tuesday I will be sharing a "tip" that I discovered on Pinterest.  It could be anything from travel, organization, recipe, etc. - just a fun little something that I discovered.

So today's tip is in regards to traveling:

A throwaway shower cap is the perfect "shoe bag" when traveling.  The cap keeps the dirty soles off your clothes in the suitcase, yet takes up no additional room.  You can score these shower caps for free at hotels or buy them 8 for $1 at your local Dollar Tree.

Color Must Have: Highlighter Yellow

shop

While flipping through a couple of new magazines this month I flagged some clothes in an awesome highlighter yellow color.

So a couple of nights later while checking out Smashion I was thrilled when I saw this Liz Claiborne Skirt for only $12 (seller drae).

It always makes me so happy when I can add a trendy item to my closet for just a little bit of money.

Have you scored something great lately? Do you shop and/or sell on Smashion?

On Saturday the temps were finally in the 60s and I didn't mind baring my forearms, so it seemed like a great day to debut my City Chic top. When I saw this shirt online a couple of months ago I knew I had to have it. I think the mix of colors is unusual and gorgeous.  Plus it is the kind of top that you can just throw on with jeans and go - no need for a lot of accessories.

Happy Easter!

happeaster

To those that are celebrating Easter today I hope you have a lovely one. We are headed to my mom's for brunch with our small little family.

I made these cute flower bouquets to give to my mom and aunt after being inspired by this picture I came across on Pinterest*.

Easter

I thrifted the 4 glass pieces I needed for these and split up a bouquet I bought at the grocery store.  They turned out pretty fun and springy I think.

*Speaking of Pinterest, are you on it? I'm always looking for fun people and boards to follow!

Wanted: Red Blazer

makethemost

Red Blazer

Just like my love affair with bright bottoms this spring I have been wanting a red blazer. I knew I could find one at a thrift store if I just looked around for a while, and my prediction came true yesterday. I found this red blazer for only $3.50 (I have to say, it looks much better on vs. on the dress form).

I know this piece will be great throughout the spring and summer. Here are just a couple of looks I have come up with my new blazer.

Red Blazer - 1

Navy/White Polka Dot Dress - thrifted, w/ coupon for $2
Scarf - thrifted, approximately 10 cents

Red Blazer - 2

Printed Tee - Just My Size via Walmart, $14
Jeans - Faded Glory via Walmart, $12
Nude Sandals - Forever 21, $26

Have you thrfited or bought anything fun lately?

Hot Nailpolish for Spring!

shop

I keep my nails polished 95% of the time and have a pretty big selection of colors. However, with spring being upon us I'm in the mood for some new colors.  So I tweeted last night asking for some nailpolish recommendations. My fabulous tweeps, KimberleeVDW, AvgGirlsGuide, 8Amber8 and StyleOne2One, hopped in to help and suggested these great colors:

What colors are you wearing this spring?

Also, on Twitter last evening I shared that I made Hungry Girl's Buffalo Chicken Wing Macaroni & Cheese recipe.  I received a couple of requests for the recipe, so here it is.  Super yummy, full of flavor and less than 300 calories per serving.  I love Hungry Girl recipes!  Do you have any favs to share?
