Daily Outfit - 02/28/11

dailywear

I had big plans over the weekend to post the March Outfit Inspiration Calendar and get other posts together for the week. Instead though, I spent time making blankets for kids at the local children's hospital with my sorority's alumnae group, drinking beer and gossiping with my girlfriends and more.

And here we are back at Monday way too quickly!  Oh well, perhaps I will get those things done during Gossip Girl tonight!

Daily Outfit - 02/25/11 & Revlon "Metallic Chic" Eyeshadow & Liner Palette

dailywear

Do the "yay, it's Friday" dance! I know I am doing it, especially after my hour and half drive to work this morning because of the snow that fell early this morning. To keep myself awake and energized this morning I grabbed this bright orange cardigan to go with this new floral top I have.

Floral Top - Old Navy, clearance for $10.50 (Jan. 2011)
Orange Cardigan - Avenue, on sale for $20 (Fall 2009)
Locket Necklace - Forever 21, $7

Jeans - Indi Denim purchased with a Groupon (Jan. 2011)

I tried another CustomEyes Eyeshadow & Liner Palette by Revlon today. This one in "Metallic Chic". I followed the diagram on the back and used the shadow as liner by wetting it a bit and applying it with a skinny, flat brush.

I am going to do a wrap-up on the shadows and share more thoughts on their wear and everything later. Also, I will be giving away 3 of the palettes! Fun times! Have a great Friday!

Just My Size "Go Nautical" Giveaway!

giveaway

While visiting the JMS/Just My Size Headquarters in NYC this past fall I was asked about style vs. comfort. I am a big believer that you can be both. Check out this video to see what I and others had to say on the topic.

An outfit like this from JMS is a great example of one that is stylish (stripes are everywhere this spring) and comfortable.

Daily Outfit - 02/23/11 & Revlon CustomEyes Palette

dailywear

Today I needed an outfit that would take me all the way from an extra early morning meeting, exterior walk-thru to a meeting after work - a 14 hour day with lots of walking. I knew my trusty black ponte knit dress was up for the long day. Also, my scarf with it's Purdue colors was the perfect addition given the inner-state rivalry game against IU this evening.

02/23/11

Dress - Lane Bryant, clearance + coupon for $18 (Jan. 2011)
Scarf - Affordable Scarves, $14 (Dec. 2010)
Gray Booties - Payless, BOGO for $20 (Dec. 2010)

I decided to use the Revlon CustomEyes Shadow & Liner Palette in Smoky Sexy again today. I went a little heavier with the colors (see Monday's look with the same colors), but swapped out the shadow as eyeliner for my Stila Smudgestick in Stingray.

Just My Size Little Black Dress Givaway!

giveaway

There is a reason that on every "must have" clothing item list a "little back dress" is included. A LBD can be dressed up for work, date night, worn casually out for lunch and more. Just check out a couple of the ways I thought to style up the JMS/Just My Size Easy Dressing Ruched Black Dress (retails for $18).

The kind folks at Just My Size want to give away one of these fantastic LBDs to a Fab Finds Reader.

Simply fill out the form below by Tuesday, March 1 for a chance to win. Keep in mind, if you can't wait that long you can click here to purchased from JMS or Walmart.

There are two more fabulous giveaways coming up sponsored by Just My Size, so be sure to check back for those also!

Daily Outfit - 02/22/11 & Revlon "Party Pops" Eyeshadow & Liner Palette

dailywear

I tweeted this morning that with my pink skirt and leopard heels I feel like I should be some place cooler than work, but since I do have to work why not make it fun. I spotted this skirt recently on the HSN site and fell in love. I am a sucker for bright colored skirts and knew this would be a fun addition - especially at its $15 clearance price.

Shoes17

Black Lace Inset Tee - Old Navy, clearance for $4.50 (Jan. 2011)
Pink Skirt - Twiggy LONDON via HSN, clearance for $15 (Feb. 2011)
Necklace - gifted
Black Belt - NY & Co, sale for $15 (2009)
Leopard Heels - Coach, clearance for $99 (Feb. 2011)

And another day, another Revlon CustomEyes Shadow and Liner Palette. Today's colors are "Party Pops". I have to say the colors are never something I would normally buy or wear, but it's fun to "get out of my box".

PartyPops

I again wore all 5 colors and followed the guide on the back.  Also, it came up yeterday about the wear of these shadows.  I will snap a picture of the shadow at the end of the day and do a recap at the end of the week about the wear.  Sound like a plan?  I thought so!

Runway to Real Way

SplurgeSteal

While the Fashion World is still a buzz with designs for Fall 2011 with the recent Fashion Week, I have my eye on Spring. Indiana was teased with some spring like temps this past week and while I know they won't last it is fun to think of Spring.

Tory Burch had a great Spring Collection that is very wearable, but can be a bit hard on the wallet. So, here is my take on one of her looks for this spring.

Daily Outfit - 02/21/11 & Revlon CustomEyes Palette

dailywear

It's Monday and I know a lot of you are enjoying a nice 3-day weekend. Not me - I am back to the grind today. I built my outfit from the shoes up today. I scored these Sofft brand heels at TJ Maxx over the weekend on clearance for $20. I knew with their padded insole and shorter heel they would be perfect for the outside meeting I have later today to talk about potholes (I know you are jealous!).

02/21/11

Print Tank - JMS/Just My Size via Walmart, clearance for $4 (Fall 2010)
Boyfriend Blazer - Lane Bryant, clearance for $20 (Summer 2010)
Belt - Target, $15 (2009)
Skirt - hand me down from my fab reader Jocelyn
Burgundy Heels - Sofft via TJ Maxx, clearance for $20 (Feb. 2011)
Key Necklace - Tiffany & Co, gifted
Bracelets - 2 gifted Tiffany & Co and 1 from TJ Maxx, $20 (Feb. 2011)

One of my "resolutions" for 2011 was to experiment more with my hair and makeup instead of wearing both the same way every day. So, when Revlon offered to send me some of their CustomEyes Shadow & Liner Palettes I jumped at the chance. Today I am wearing the "Smokey Sexy". Since I am a novice I followed the diagram on the back and applied all 5 colors. Five different colors for a work day is a bit extreme for me, but I know I can wear less and more given the occasion.

Revlon

These palettes would be great for travel since they have so many colors in slim, compact cases and you can use the shadow as liner also (I wet my brush to use the darkest color as liner today).

The pigmentation seems like good quality especially given the pricepoint of the palette (around $7.50 from Target) and are easy to blend.

Tomorrow, I will be using a different palette and will share my results. Have you tried any of the Revlon CustomEyes Shadow & Liner Palettes yet?  What is your favorite color set?

Daily Outfit - 02/18/11

dailywear

Woo-hoo it is Friday! I'm pretty excited about that. While I don't have any big plans, except to maybe recover my kitchen table chairs, I am looking forward to it. For this outfit I just went with a casual combo of a cardi and jeans and incorporated some pattern mixing.

02/18/11

Flower Top - Old Navy, clearance for $6.50 (Jan. 2011)
Strip Cardi - Kmart, clearance for $3 + DIY embellishment (Spring 2010)
Necklaces - Forever 21, less than $10 for both
Jeans - indi Denim, $85 w/ Groupon
Wedges - Ellen Tracy via TJ Maxx, $40 (Dec. 2010)
