Welcome to a new little segment here at FFUF called Rapid Fire Fashion. Rapid Fire Fashion is where I spend 15 minutes on G-Chat with another Blogger asking them all sorts of fashion questions. I always love this type of format when it is used in magazine interviews, etc. and thought it would be fun to do.
During this inaugural round, Sara of
Bombshell Beauty agreed to let me ask her any sort of fashion question I wanted to. It was fun to do, and I hope you have fun reading it!
me: Are you ready for a little Rapid Fire Fashion?
Sara: Fire away!me: Okay the timer is going!
First up, I love this outfit that you wore the other day.

Is there anything you would do differently in future wearings? Or is it perfection just as it is?
Sara: I think I nailed it for what it was on that particular day - but I'm notorious for under-accessorizing. I'd go bolder with the jewelry next time.
me: I think you nailed it to - in fact, I am so going to copy this in the near future!
Sara: Thanks!
me: Next up, animal print is everywhere for fall. What are your thoughts about it?
Sara: Love it - within reason. I prefer natural prints - things that might actually be seen in nature as opposed to hot pink cheetah print.
me: Oh no, I have purple leopard . . .
Sara: I'm not judging anyone else. It's just not for me.me: Do you have animal print in your closet already? If yes, what piece(s)? If not, what do you have on your shopping list.
Sara: I have a zebra print belt that I love, love. Have been on the prowl (ha...)for a pair of leopard print heels for ages! Michael Kors did an amazing animal print tote bag this season that I would love to get my hands on.
me: So, it looks like you are an accessories gal when it comes to implementing trends. That is a great way to keep up on trends without going overboard for sure.
Sara: Definitely. It's an affordable way to keep up with trends.
me: Now for a little "would you rather".
Would you rather wear the same outfit every Monday, Wednesday and Friday or have to wear a completely new outfit everyday ($ would be no option).
Sara: I'd rather wear a new outfit every day...especially if $$ were not object!me: That's a lot of shopping - are you sure you are up for it?
Sara: I think so...although I might have to quit my job to keep up with it. Between online shopping and living right around the corner from Mall of America, I think I'd do all right.me: I think you would do great with it too and I would totally pick that option too!
Sara: One more reason why we're friends. I'd totally recruit you to help shop for me.
me: Ahh, thanks! I would totally help!
Sara: And we've now both maxed out our use of the word totally. [Editor's note - I am so bad about using that word!!]
me: Speaking of shopping, what is the best purchase fashion-wise that you have ever made?
Sara: Oh geez...uhm. I'm going to say the winter coat I bought two years ago. Gray wool, knee length. It came with military-inspired buttons that were on trend at the time. The next season, I changed the entire look of the coat by replacing the buttons with yellow plastic ones. I was so proud of myself.
me: A winter coat is definitely important, especially up in the tundra where you live. Wow, you just tapped on a great point. Changing buttons can completely change the look of an item and breath new life into it. Are you a big DIY'er?
Sara: No, I'm not a DIYer. I admire those people who are, and I'm a huge fan of Martha Stewart. But my crafty projects usually turn out to be a big mess.
me: Ha, I usually end up spending way more $ at the craft store than I ever plan on when I take on a DIY!
Sara: Yes! One year I knitted scarves for my family. It took me so much time and required so much yarn I could have bought everyone something nicer than what they ended up with.
me: Tory Burch showed this look in her Fall 2010 RTW show:

Could you see yourself wearing something similar?
Sara: Yep. With a couple modifications. I'd replace the boots with a pair of ankle booties. And I'd swap in a colorful belt at the waist.
me: Great swap - ankle booties are so in for fall and I love the idea of adding some color.
Okay, our time is almost up, so one last question.
Sara: That went fast!
me: You recently said that polka dots are the new stripes. Do you REALLY believe that? Ha!
Sara: Sort of...stripes are a classic that will never go out of style.
But polka dots evoke the same feel as stripes and, to me, feel a little fresher right now.
me: I agree. I saw a look earlier today with a stripe tee layered under a polka dot jacket. It made me positively giddy! [Editor's Note: The look was worn by Fashion Nette-Work here]
Sara: Ooooh, combining the best of both worlds. Love that!
me: As we wrap this up, do you have any fashion words of wisdom for the readers of Fab Finds Under $50?
Sara: Wear what you love. Take inspiration from others but dress by your own rules.
me: Oh, that is good!! So good!
Sara: As soon as I hit send, I groaned "Ohhh no. Was that hokey??"
me: Not hokey at all! Thank you so much for being my guinea pig for the 1st installment of rapid Fire Fashion! It was great!
Sara: This is a really fun segment, Kimberly. Great idea! Thanks for letting me be your first.
Do you want to participate in Rapid Fire Fashion? The only requirements are to be free for a schedule 15 minute G-Chat in the evening hours and to answer my silly fashion questions. Drop me a line if you are interested.
