Repost: 2008 & 2009 Recap

One of my favorite things about the end of a calendar year is all of the recaps that various news programs, shows and magazines do. I have been blogging for almost 3 solid years now and have shared my wardrobe recaps at the end of the past couple of years. It's always fun to look back, so I thought I would repost my 2008 and 2009 recaps. I will be sharing the 2010 recap next week!

I did it - I blogged and took almost daily outfit pics (261 to be exact!) again in 2009. It was a great year and you, my lovely readers, were a big part of that!

I thought a little trip down outfit memory lane was in order.

In 2009, Skirts and Dresses dominated my work wardrobe. Also, my love of layering and belting continued!

Here are some stats:
I wore a belt 57% of the time (+9% from 2008), a scarf as a belt 7% of the time (-3% from 2008) and utilized built in belts on dresses and tops 8% of the time (+1% from 2008) for a grand total of 72% of the days having some sort of waist definition (+7% from 2008). It appears I found a look I really liked and stuck with it!

I wore black or charcoal gray as at least half of my outfit on 145 days for a total of 56% of the time (hmm, I try to add lots of color - promise!)

I wore a skirt or dress 64% of the time (up a whopping 16% from 2008)!

I'm looking forward to a great 2010 with all of you! Thanks for being a Fab Finds Under $50 reader!

I started taking almost daily wardrobe pictures in February 2008. I must say it has been fun to go back and see what outfits and elements worked and didn't work.

Things I have accomplished through W-R and blog inspiration:
1)Accessorizing more, especially with scarves
2) Wearing belts – I realized how good this look is for my figure and just can’t stop myself from doing it on an almost daily basis now!
3) I may still wear a lot of black, but I am working to add interesting pops of color or accessories when I do
4) I definitely got over my large calves and sported lots of skirts and dresses
5) I learned to integrate more patterns (even if just subtle ones) and tried my hand at pattern mixing a few times.
6) I am a layering fool – it wouldn’t be a day if I had on less than 3-4 pieces!

Fun Statistics:
I wore a belt 48% of the time, a scarf as a belt 10% of the time and utilized built in belts on dresses and tops 7% of the time for a grand total of 65% of the days having some sort of waist definition.

I wore black or charcoal gray as the majority of my outfit 86 days for a total of 45% of the time (that actually isn’t as bad as I thought – a couple of years ago I wore black almost every day!)

I wore a skirt or dress 91 days for a total of 48% of the time.
