Five Flattering Pieces

checkitout

While looking through the September Issue of People Style Watch Magazine I saw this list of the 5 Most Flattering Pieces according to Charla Krupp.

Flattering

It seemed like a really great list of wardrobe staples, so I decided to look around and pull together some options in each of the 5 categories. Each category has misses and plus size options - click on the item to be directed to the retailer's site for more info.

Draped Jersey Top

Dark Straight-Leg Jeans

Dress with a Waistband

Fitted Jacket

Dark Pencil Skirt

I own the book and agree with about 50% of what she has to say. Some of her "less fat" advice does not work for me.

Love your pics.

Fat chance finding a pencil skirt with the current trends in the stores. I spent a whole weekend searching two malls with no luck. All I could find were classic "suit" type skirts - lined.

Not everyone can dress in trend all the time... sometimes I just need my black pencil skirt!

Thanks for sharing all of these! Fitted dresses are the only kind I wear anymore. :)

i have to agree on the fitted dress! i found the perfect one at the thrift store and i must say, i definitely look like i dropped a size! also, it is my "go to" dress when i don't know what to wear. i actually posted it today on my blog!

Great pictures and I agree with all of the advice except the dress part. Those dresses make me look pregnant :( which isn't good since I WAS in the mood to wear dresses...now I'm not.

Wow, those are all the fashion trends I AVOID because they are so unflattering to me! Especially a high waist anything, like T-Wan it only makes me look pregnant. Same with a flowy top. Pencil Skirt? PULEEEZE! Not with these hips! And cropped jacktes only accentuate the wide hops and huge bust...
