I'm a big fan of scarves! They can add so much color and pattern to an outfit, they always fit, and there are so many of them out there at great prices (whenever at a thrift store I always check out the scarves).
This past Sunday, Gilt had a sale on Nina Ricci and Christian LaCroix scarves. They were gorgeous, but I passed on their $49 - $199 price tags. However, I loved all of the ways they showed the scarves worn and tied. There are many online resources for scarves, but this collection of pictures did a great way of showing modern ways to wear scarves and included ideas for all sizes of scarves. I thought I would share in case you need a little scarf inspiration.

Well ladies, I tried to make a nice Google Doc that show a larger image of the above and was printable. For some reason it decided to be difficult though, but if you click here you can view a larger image of the above.

Thanks for posting this! I only own one scarf but I've hardly worn it all because I don't really know how to wear it (funny, because I'm wearing it today...).
These are great pictures with so many ideas! Thank you!
Awesome! Any way to enlarge this image? I'd love to be able to see details a bit better ...
Sal, I had them set up in Google Doc so you could see larger images and also print it for future reference if you wanted. However, Google Docs is being a bit cantankerous and showing the same image over and over in the link doc even though it is fine when I look at. I am working on it and will post the link when I get it figured out!
I have 2 really skinny sequin scarves and I have no idea how to wear them :(
If I just wear them around my neck, they make my shoulders look huge (since they are so skinny). Idk what to do!
I noticed all the cool scarf-wearing options on Gilt the other day too! Thanks for gathering all the photos together; this is a great reference.
Thank you for this post! I'm always looking for new ways to wear my scarves!
I am such crap with scarves. I always feel like I'm trying too hard. You wear them like a total pro - great knotting ideas!
WHat a fantastic guide! So glad you posted it.
IBSerenity: here's an idea.loop the skiny scarf around your neck a couple of times, like a necklace, but 'pull' out the sides so the scarf is making the shape of a boat-type neckline (it will be sitting kind of out on your shoulders). you can also wind them around your neck for a loose, bulky 'choker' look (with or without knot, use one or both for more chunkiness). keep it kind of loose and 'messy', too tite and it will get small and make your shoulders look big again.....although i have big shoulders to start and wore ginormo shoulder pads happily through the 1980's!!
hope you have some success - those scarves sound like fun!!
ooo! & they show my favorite bow!!
