The inspiration calendar called for "Add a flower to your belt/waistband" so I thought it would be a good day to debut my "ribbon flowery-thing" belt that I DIY'd the other day. The belt was inspired by one I saw on Down East Basics' website (picture below). I think I will attempt another using more grosgrain ribbon vs. the majority satin ribbon that I had on hand. But for no money out and 30 minutes of time it worked out pretty well.

Oxford Shirt - Old Navy, clearance for $10 (Spring 2009)
Raspberry Crinkle Cami - compliments of Maurices
Polka Dot Skirt - Thrifted, $4 (July 2010)
Belt - DIY from ribbon scraps, less than $1
Brown Heels - Dr. Scholl's/6pm.com, $30 (Dec. 2009)

Have you heard about Groupon's deal today? You can buy a $50 Gap Voucher for only $25. Last I checked Groupon's site was having some issues due to the high demand for the deal, but if you get a chance you should grab one!

I love, love, love those heels, especially with the studs along the sides.
Great take on the inspiration pic!
What a fun idea! Have I ever mentioned here that you have beautiful hair? I'm jealous of the length... it's so hard to let mine grow back out, but I'm trying!
Very cute idea, you are so imaginative. I would have just thought "oh,that's cute, wish I had one" and moved on....

LOVE the DIY! What a perfect way to jazz up an oxford! It took me like 20 tries, but I got my GAP groupon! Yay!
