Though we are in the thick of July heat here in the Northern Hemisphere it is hard not to think ahead to Fall and the wonderful fashions that come with the cooler temps. My mailbox is getting stuffed daily with August Magazine Issues filled with images of layering, faux fur, rich tones and more.
While Fall is still a couple of months away it is a good time to start thinking and shopping ahead. This became apparent while going through the Pantone Fashion Color Report Fall 2010. Two of the designers' "Must Have" items stuck out in my mind of items that could easily be thrifted. Its true what they say - what goes around comes around.
First up, Charlotte Ronson:

She states a must have as a pleated maxi skirt and showcased both maxi and shorter versions of pleated skirts in her F/W 2010 Collection. I see pleated skirts all the time while out thrifting (and in fact, have a couple). For less than $5 you can score one of fall's must haves!
Next up, Tommy Hilfiger:

He states a Sleeveless Navy Blazer is a new take on a classic item and showed a couple of versions of sleeveless blazers in his F/W 2010 Collection. Next time you are out a Thrift Store check out the men's blazers. For under $10 and a little DIY (here is a great tutorial) you can have your very own version of this "twisted classic".
From the same Pantone Catalog there were lots of great quotes about the importance of color for fall (flip through the pages of the catalog for what colors are hot for fall). This all sounded great to me because you know I am a fan of color and bright pops to keep an outfit interesting and lively!

So, while out shopping for current summer items grab some colorful accessories and layering pieces. They will transition nicely into fall!

I love fall, and while I'm not ready for summer to be over, I am ready to think about the weather and the clothes and the accessories. :)
