Rent the Runway is a lot like Avelle (formerly known as Bag Borrow or Steal) but for clothes and accessories.
Given that they carry designer clothing much of it is out for me based on their limited sizes, but I can still drool over all the great jewelry.
In the movie Sex and the City 2, I feel in love with Carrie's Rodrigo Otazu bracelet as she wandered the beach in Abu Dhabi (sorry not the best pic, but all I could find).

And then I saw the same bracelet on Jill Zarin during the many episodes of The Real Housewives of New York Reunion Show.

With that I knew it was a spendy bracelet, but hadn't done my research yet. Then while clicking through Rent the Runway I spied the same one!

Yep, I was right - pricey with its $400+ tag, but with Rent the Runway I could rent it for 4 days (long enough for an event) for only about 16% of the retail cost or $65. I admit its still a little spendy for the rental, but ahh, the memories (and I would be sure to take lots of pictures!).
How about you? Would you (or have you) rented clothing or accessories before?

To be honest, I wouldn't unless I needed an expensive gown for some black-tie event, and even then I would hesitate. It just seems like a a waste of money to me -- why spend $$ if I'm not allowed to keep it?
I agree w/ Miss Potential. I could not see spending $60 on something I could only use for 4 days. I would do a borrowing program on a gown for an event. I think the idea is fun, but out of my price range. I would rather try to find something for $60 that I could keep.
OK, for anyone who knows me I did Bag Borrow or Steal YEARS ago for a fun weekend trip. And you know what? It was worth it and I'd do it again. (Hello, Botkier!) Kimberly, I am totally backing you on this one!
