I have a love/hate relationship with cropped pants. I like the idea and ease of them and think they are cute on others. But I ruled them out of my life a couple of summers ago for whatever reason. However, they are cooler and seem more "summery" than long pants can be plus they are much more conducive to my job than skirts/dresses. I decided I wanted a few pairs back in rotation again, so I went and bought a couple of pairs.
White Lace Cami - Lane Bryant, store promo + coupon for $12 (June 2010)
White Open Weave Cardi - Lane Bryant, w/ coupon for $30 (April 2010)
Gray Crops - Burlington Coat Factory, $13 (June 2010
Pink Necklace - Princess, $4 (June 2010)
Zebra w/ Pink Scarf worn as Obi Belt - H&M, $5 (May 2010)
Gray Sandals - compliments of Lane Bryant (June 2010) (not available online, but in some stores)

Must have them! I sometimes wonder if they are grandma-ish but then decide they are not. With the right shoes they are cooler and professional too.
This is a great outfit, I particularly love the way you've tied the scarf as a belt! Also, grey and pink look so nice together, I think.
I love this. The pink really punches up the look.
Since I am short I have a love/hate feeling about them too. some pairs can just look horrible on me and make me look like I am wearing flood pants.
These look great on you and I love the belted look. Very polished!
My company's dress code doesn't allow cropped pants that are more than one inch above the ankle bone, so I don't have any. Well, I just bought a pair over the weekend, but they are definitely casual. I don't know the logic behind the policy, since I can wear a skirt the length of your cropped pants. I guess it is because we had some people who didn't know the difference between casual cargo capris and nice tailored cropped pants. As they say, a few bad apples....
I know some people suggest that shorter people don't do themselves any favors by wearing cropped pants, since it can have a shortening effect on the appearance of your legs, but I love them! I have a couple of pair and think they can be a great day-to evening transitional piece for your summer wardrobe.
Crops can be tricky, but I think this pair looks marvelous!
Can you do a blog entry on where to find really cute shoes for those of us who have wide feet?
Thank you
Leslie
I LOVE THIS OUTFIT. You look smoking hawt here. I love the gray, white and zebra print mixed in. Good job. Once again.
Great look today; I love everything about it! My work banned crop pants a few summers ago. I've bought a few pairs of roll-up boyfriend chinos and one pair of roll-up boyfriend jeans... but haven't bought ACTUAL crop pants in ages. Plus my husband hates them and thinks they're totally fugly, ha.
I have a love/hate relationship with crops also. They have to hit just at the right place on my short "athletic" looking legs. Most of the time I'm tailoring them.
This is such a cute outfit! I haven't found the right pair of cropped pants yet; it's a tough trend to pull off without looking silly!
Love your shoes & necklace!

Cute outfit!
Cropped pants with flat shoes can look sloppy but this looks very put together!
I too am on the fence about cropped pants--sometimes I love them, others I don't. But this look is stunning on you! The pops of pink against the gray and white are gorgeous! And those shoes are hot!
Kimberley, you always look so fab! I think the problem you might have with cropped pants is that you are wearing them with shoes that visually cut you off at the ankle and make you look shorter. Other photos that I have seen of you in cropped pants with flat shoes look wonderful, so maybe that helps?
this outfit looks lovely. i love the little bit of pink.

i did the same thing..threw out all of my capris, hating them and hoping the rest of the world would do the same. But I have decided that I like them again and bought 2 pair of skinny crops. Ehh, thats the wonderful thing about being a girl, changing your mind! You look great!
The cropped pants look great on you...especially the way you dress them up...love that sweater and that necklace..
