Reader Question-Wardrobe Essentials Part 2

ReaderQuestion

Yesterday I introduced three items that I think are great Spring & Summer Essentials for an gal's wardrobe, and today I am back with more.

First up, the Maxi Dress!

The maxi dress is a trend that really hit the scene hard last year and it is back for another round this year. The maxi dress is great because you can toss on the one piece with some sandals for an easy and breezy outfit that still looks pretty and pulled together. As you can see above you can layer a shirt over the dress with a belt or a jacket to create a more covered look and possibly even be suitable for work.

Next up, the Vest!

A vest is a great spring and summer layering piece because it adds extra dimension to the outfit without adding too much weight and warmth to the outfit. As you can see it's a great topper to a blouse and pants for work, over a dress to mix up the look or even paired with jeans for a fun, casual look!

Lastly, a bright Tunic!

A tunic is another great piece. You can wear it out over a pair of pants and even belted if you want, tuck it into a skirt for a completely different look or simply toss it on with a pair of jeans and heels for dinner out. Most tunics have fantastic embroidery and/or beading also so the need for accessories is minimal.

Here are my 6 picks (Part 1 is here) for spring and summer - what is on your list the upcoming warmer temps?

Oh how I adore the Maxi dress. It just screams summer parties by tiki torches.

I am loving vests right now. I just got a great one at New York & Co and can't wait to wear it!
