Daily Outfit - 03/15/10

dailywear

The Outfit Inspiration Calendar called for a "Printed Cardigan and Skirt Combo" which seemed like the perfect easy Monday Outfit. This whole springing forward thing really affects me for a couple of days. I miss the daylight on my drive to work - hopefully it will be back in a couple of weeks!

03/15/10

Black Tee - TJ Maxx, $13 (Summer 2009)*
Cardigan - compliments of Lane Bryant (Fall 2009)
Puple Skirt - thrifted, $0.89 (Spring 2009)
Necklace - Aldo Accessories, $20 (Feb. 2010)
Black Belt - NY & Co, $14 (Spring 2009)
Black Heels - Michael Kors/6pm.com, $55 (Dec. 2009)**

* Speaking of TJ Maxx, their shoe department has been rocking lately! Not sure if it is just in the Indy Market or nationwide, but there offerings of higher-end name brands has grown significantly. I've spotted Donald J Pliner, Coach, Poure la Victoire, Diane Von Furtenberg and Chloe over the past couple of weeks. Good for my feet - bad for my wallet! :-)

** As a reader pointed out last week I wear these shoes A LOT!! It's true - they are great shoes. They go with almost everything, they are comfortable, and they are holding up well. I tend to be very hard on my shoes and often have to have heels caps replaced after only a few wearings of some brands. These babies are still in great shape though. I wish I would have bought a couple of pairs at that great price.

Hey Kimberly- minor detail... where do you go to have your heel caps replaced in Indy? I actually put a pair of shoes in the trash this morning that I may dig out if it's reasonably priced!

Dang I want to go shopping with you! You're a great bargain hunter. What a steal on that skirt, and it's a gorgeous color. Your necklace is also very cool. You look chic, as always!

That's awesome you got that skirt for less than $1!! I love the necklace today! I agree on the Michael Kors shoes, I have 5 pairs of his shoes and sandals and they are so comfortable and well made!

I've been disappointed at the pricing in shoes at TJMaxx. It used to be their prices were reasonable, but not it seems that I can't find anything for under $40. Sure, they're good brands, but I'm shopping there for bargains!

wow, what a deal on this purple skirt. i wouldn't think pleats could be so cool... nice job!
i also wear my shoes into the ground FAST because i walk everywhere. i hate when heel caps come off immediately and i'm walking on plastic, argh! but i've never actually had them replaced. i rarely consider it worthwhile when the shoes cost $15 and re-cobbling is $40! maybe i need to find a better source...

So...of course this means I'm going to stop by TJ Maxx soon...ha I had no idea they sold some of those labels! I'll check to see what they offer here!

Why did I read this when I'm about 5 minutes away from a TJMaxx?! I tend to wear the same basic shoes a lot too - a black & brown boots for everyday winter wear to work - same for heels in the summer and then I have a few more here & there. I reserve the bulk of my money for clothes :-)
