Add a Pop of Color & Accessories

checkitout

Yesterday I looked up an old post to refresh my memory of when I bought the brown speckled dress and spotted a picture of one of the times I had worn it. A couple of years ago I simply layered it with brown and added a two-tone brown scarf - the final look resulted in a lot of brown. Now there isn't anything wrong with that, but it reminded me how a little color can go a long way.

I headed over to Coutourious to create some basic looks along with revised looks to show how you can make them "pop" by adding some color and accessories.

First off, we have the basic black look which can be chic and perfect for some occasions, but with the addition of layering yellow underneath and swapping for some snakeskin heels the look elevates to a whole new level of chic-ness.

Next up is a simple mocha dress that can easily be paired with brown accessories. It can also be jazzed up with some pretty pink and blush tones by layering a shirt under the dress, adding a belt and heels in the same tones and finishing it off with a teal purse.

You can't go wrong with a black and white combo, but you can add an extra wow factor by adding a red scarf and heels.

Lastly, a simple gray top and black pants can be taken to a whole new level by adding a colorful statement necklace, plaid purse and coral shoes.

So next time you look in your closet grab a bright, possibly unexpected color to layer in or accessorize with to take your outfit to a new level!

I'm so inspired by your use of accessories and layering. I even added a belt to by usual dress/cardi ensemble today.
