Today's Outfit Inspiration called for a pattern mix of plaid and polka dots. I really wanted to push the envelope and do a pretty bold mix since I have been inspired by all of the spring magazines showing a lot of mixing. I just didn't have the right components for a work outfit though. So, my plaid and polka dots are pretty subtle, but mixed nonetheless!
Red Dress - Avenue, $30 (currently on sale for $25) (Feb. 2010)
Black Open Front Cardi - Ross, $9 (Feb. 2010)
Plaid Shirt - Ann Taylor Loft, super clearance for $6 (Dec. 2008)
Polka Dot Scarf - Lane Bryant, clearance for $6 (Fall 2009)
Black Wedges - Michael Kors, 6pm.com, super sale for $25 (currently $30) (Feb. 2010)
Have a great day, everyone! It's another gray and snowy day here outside of my window.

Subtle, but just fabulous! This is my favorite kind of pattern mix - one where the patterns add just a hint of movement and spark to an outfit.
i wasnt able to do this one, since i didnt have the right elements, but you knocked it out of the park!
I love it. It totally works.
I love the combo of patterns. I have not yet ventured with mixing and matching patterns, but always admire when people do that.
subtle yes, but noticeable too! I love the mix, and the black/white/red combo is classic and gorgeous on you!
It's supposed to be snowy here tomorrow..grrrr...
I LOVE the way you incorporated plaid and polka dots...it's subtle, but it definitely makes a statement.

Hottie!! I love the red on you and the plaid shirt is so pretty with those polka dots! Super hot though!!
This is a gorgeous outfit! I love the subtle patterns!
I think I like this subtle pattern mixing much more than mixing crazy bold patterns! I might be able to pull this look off lol.
I think someone went a little MK's crazy during the sale . . . (points finger at Kim) =P
OH! So I bought the pair of MK shoes I wanted =) I returned the too small pair and ordered the burgundy suede ones which I actually like more and they were $26 woot woot! Don't you just adore 6pm?
I never posted before but I had to tell you that I love this outfit!
I love the plaid shirt. Are those ruffles I spy? You look sleek and comfortable- the best work combination in my book.
I love the way you have used today's outfit inspiration. So unusual. And you should wear more of red. The colour looks fabulous on you. And is it just me or dos anyone else feel Kimberly has lost weight as well?
I love the ruffles peaking out up top!! And you can never go wrong with such a classic color pairing.
Hey Kimberly! I just wanted to say, that red looks amazing on you!
