I need help - I have to go to a beach wedding in Ft Myers in November -- and the attire is cocktail! I was trying to stay away from wearing black...but am not sure what is cocktail attire but seasonably appropriate for November being the fact that it's fall but it's a lot warmer there. Any ideas???
I'm so stumped!
Leslie
Leslie, this is a tricky situation, however, there are lots of options that don't involve black (at least not as the main color)! November is usually highs in the mid-70s and lows in the mid-50s that far south in Ft. Myers, Florida. Sleeveless is definitely an option and usually association with cocktail attire, so we are in luck there. With it being on the beach though I selected low heels and wedges that will be easier to walk in the sand with and also can be slipped off to shake the sand out of your shoes. I would take a wrap or blazer in case you catch a chill (not sure if the reception is on the beach or not) - a black one would work with any of these suggestions.

You rock! Im loving some of these ideas!
Leslie, If you don't want to bear your shoulders bridal shops have great formal shrugs that can be dyed to match a dress. I bought one to match a bridesmade dress. It was simple netting wiht beading around the collar.
lol, ft. myers is my neck of the woods. excellent outfit ideas.
i love the dress with the animal print peep toe show ;p
As a Floridian, I have to say you're right on target. Even for dressier events, you're still going to find us in sleeveless dresses and flip flops. I'd avoid anything in a heel in sand, you're just going to sink. Go for the wedge, a dressy flat, or a fancy flip flop. I have turquoise ones with rhinestones that I wear all the time down here!
I LOVE the jeweled cuff by Forever 21. I am obsessed. Must find it!!!!
I think your suggestions are spot on. These dresses are gorgeous, and perfect for a November wedding. I really love the dress on the left.
