When I saw Charlize Theron's September pictorial in Vouge I loved the look of simple white shirts under the gorgeous formal gowns. It gave me an idea to try something similar with a great halter dress I thrifted last month. However, given the fact that my dress is a black cotton instead of the silk and organza of Charlize's gowns I ended up looking more like a member of a wait staff when I gave the look a trial run last evening.

I decided I liked the look of a shirt under the dress though and opted to try this sheer floral top which definitely turned out better.

FYI Kim, that Dots blouse (which I totally love) is now on the clearance rack - I grabbed it for $7!

Lovely! It's still too hot for me to think about layering, but I've filed away some great layering looks, and Charlize made it into the pile! Now, I need to get a binder and some page protectors!
