Wow!! I have to admit when I first read this Preppy Bohemian seemed like a total oxymoron, and I wasn't sure how I was going to tackle it. Then I took a look through The Lucky Guide to Mastering Any Style book focusing on the American Classic, Bohemian and California Casual Sections (feel free to click on the pages below to be directed to flickr for a better look).
After that I decided it was totally do-able complete with whale belts and pink chinos! Take a look:

I love the white shirt and jeans look you put together! The orange shoes are amazing and the colored earrings add a great touch. Same with teh F21 in the last picture - adorable! As for the first outfit, I have that same exact Loft skirt and it's so comfortable!
So, I think my style must BE preppy bohemian, because I have totally work almost every outfit you created. Hilarious!
I'm SUPER impressed with these, K. Never thought there'd be a way to do "preppy bohemian" and have it be cohesive ... but you've proven me wrong!
The best advice is to shop at J.Crew. They have mastered preppy chic, so that it almost doesn't seem preppy. Proportion is everything so if you're clothes are preppy, than make sure you'll jewelry is funky!
Wow I love all of these looks. Guess I need to check out preppy bohemian huh! You do such a great job at putting things together. I think I might need to get that skirt from Alloy!
PERFECT! i like all of the pairings!
i nominated you for an award. check it out!

I echo Anna, thanks for giving me a term to call my style, I have worn a lot of similar outfits lately- I guess I will start telling people I'm a preppy boho! You rock, good job as always Kimberly!
OOOOH I ADORE PREPPY BOHEMIAN!
who knew?
YOu are just fantastic!!! Did not think I would go for Preppy Boho, but I looove those outfits.
I too am incredibly impressed with these selections! Although from the midwest, I joined the sailing community out East and I'm constantly bombarded with preppiness (not really my weekend look, although I do go for it sometimes at work). I love this infusion and might even try it out...
Been meaning to ask you, how much time do you spend putting these looks together? I tried doing it once for a friend who needed advice and I feel like it took forever! You really have a knack for it.
I LOVE your blog and this post inspired me to finally make a comment. I've been thinking for a long time how I could describe my style and I now believe it must be Preppy Bohemian....I would have never come up with that term on my own, that's for sure! It does sound a little ironic but seeing the outfits you put together I realized they are much like the things I'm always drawn to.
Great post.!! I love every single outfit.. I too have a pair of similar designed Charlotte Russe crinkle buckle platforms.
I love it! Very creative! That's actually really cool.
