This past weekend on "50% Off everything day" at Goodwill I scored a bunch of these great Bubble Necklaces - brand new with tags from Target. They originally retailed for $15 each and Goodwill had them priced at $2. That's right, I scored a great "Steal" version of J. Crew's Bubble Necklace for a savings of $149!
Word is that some Target's still have this necklace for sale for the original price (at least in Louisville, KY). I can't locate it on their website though.
So, I am going to share my good fortune with you, my kind readers! Here is your chance to win a Green Bubble Necklace! Leave a comment on this post telling us something fun (i.e. the best deal you ever found, how you found my blog, how long you have been a reader, your favorite store - something besides "I want to win!"). I will draw a name at random next Tuesday, March 31, so leave your comment by then. I will ship internationally, so everyone feel free to comment away! Good Luck!

Such a pretty summery colour - count me in!
i actually found your blog through my tally friend, see meg shop, and have been a loyal follower for i want to say almost a year now!
I found you through another blog ... I was looking at lots of style blogs and stumbled on yours. I added you to my bookmarks because I like what you wear and love to hear about the good deals!
My greatest deal was a Hayden Harnett worth nearly $600 for Ross for $85. I realize that's not a find under $50, but it was still a good deal. ;-)

I found your blog via "E the Cat Nanny" about 3 months ago and have been loving all of your posts since then. I am toying with the idea of taking a picture of my outfit everyday during the month of April just to see what I can learn from the experiment. You have inspired me! I hear that green bubble necklace calling my name!! ha!
OK, so there are two deals that I have to brag about. The first one would be the pair of baby blue UGGS that I scored (brand new) for -- get this -- $6.00!! I think the salesgirl almost died when she realized how low they were!! The second would have to be the Ann Taylor brown pinstriped suit for $2.00 which is at my utmost favorite store in the universe -- The Salvation Army. On the right day it's like HEAVEN!!
you always seem to score the best deals at goodwill. wish mine had such good scores.
ok so i totally forgot the contest rules since i skipped over that part taken away by my jealousy of this cool necklace you just found. my fave steal store is target. i add my fave things on to my wish list then wait for them to go down to 75% and then add them to my shopping cart.
I can't remember how I found your blog but I am so glad I did! You were my inspiration for wearing scarves with outfits and now
I love them!
I found your blog through a link at makeupalley.com. They have a fashion message board.
Thanks!
Tippadee doo dah -- I love a giveaway! and a good target bargain! I scored a sweater for $3.74 there today and a cute sundress for $20(the merona one - it's waaay more flattering than the old navy sundresses). My hubby was impressed but a little ticked that i spent $44 when i was only there for brita filters....
Love your blog and the fashion inspiration -- you'll be happy to know I am now BELTING several times a week, ha!
Hi Kimberly,
I found a pair of great dark forest green shoes at Goodwill. I went back a couple of times and they were still there. Very cute vintage shoes at that. The day I finally decided to buy them the were half off and cost me a dollar. I've already worn them 3 times. Also, I think I started reading your blog because I found you on Audi's blog roll. Thanks for the opportunity!
My greatest find was a $13 pair of cowboy boots at a flea market. They were perfectly broken in, and exactly my size. That was ten years ago and I still wear them a few times a week!
I found you blog hopping. My best deal was a fluke thing. We had stopped at a discount store to buy juice of all things and I was looking through things there. A sweet gray haired lady came up to me and whispered, "Go over to the thrift store on the corner. All clothing is 10 cents." Needless to say I paid for my juice and left. I walked away with two cotton sweaters, a gold clutch, two blouses, 3 vintage dresses for my daughter, a pair of Italian pants and 3 spring scarves for a whopping $1.20. I just know in my heart of hearts I'll probably never get that deal again.
I'm not quite sure I remember where I found your blog... maybe from brynalexandra or what I wore?? Anywho, my best deal ever was this fabulous fitting, very flattering black pencil skirt with awesome red-lined pockets from Old Navy. I got it for 99 cents!!! It was in clearance, than I bought it during their half-off clearance sale like a month ago. I'm pretty sure I blogged about it. :) Yay for good deals!
I'm so jealous of your wonderful finds!!! :) The best deal I've found is my dollar pencil skirt from a consignment shop!
I've only been a reader for a couple of weeks - I found your blog through a friend.
My favorite stores are Target and Forever 21! Gotta love those deals!
that is almost an exact replica of my avon one. The only differnce is the smallest beads on the avon one are brown. I wonder if the same company makes it for both you know like the makeup companies do.
Oh best deal? Today! I got YSL and Ferragamo shoes at a new consignment store for 95 total. Yes 1100 worth of shoes. While that doesn't beat my "deal" total it beats my designer deal total. While I have gotten gobs of clothes for almost no money Designer stuff is a whole other story as it doesn't go on sale often if at all. The YSL are so me too that they are hilarious. 5 inch patent platforms.
I found your blog while searching on other fashion blogs. The best deal I have even gotten was a brand new Ann Taylor shift dress at a thrift store for $0.50. I love you blog... I have not been reading it that long and I look forward to checking it out everyday.
What a spectacular find! Found you blog hopping this evening. My favorite store is garage sales. Can't wait for summer season!
One day I was looking for outfit inspirtation and found your blog through google. Your blog was the first fashion blog I ever read and it was so exciting I decided to start my own.
The best deal I've ever found..well my favorite deals are the 10 items for $5 sales at Claires...they have awesome stuff to mix and match with. I also luv half price sales at Goodwill.
I think my best deal ever was finding a real LV Speedy for $16 at Denton Thrift.
Oops, forgot to mention that I found your blog while reading another one. I love these blogs!! It's great to know that there are others out there with a love of fashion and a good bargain!
Hi!
I found your blog last year when I googled something along the lines of "cute clothes for under $50". Since I am a college student I have a limited budget. I love your blog!
Oh and my best deal was a vintage Louis Vuittion in my local thrift store for $25. I assumed that it was a fake, but my mom convinced me to take it to a LV store and see if they could tell for sure. Turns out it was REAL and very old!!! Now I wish I hadnt spent the $600 (high school graduation money is the best!) on a new one =(
A few weeks ago I got this beautiful silk Banana Republic dress that originally retailed for over $200 for 2 bucks! And I found your blog somewhere?? and have been following ever since :)
Love the necklace... so here is my "entry" :) I found your blog through E the cat nanny and have been hooked ever since. (by the way i totally miss her regular blog... she was so inspiring!)I loved your use of a scarf with every style of outfit imagineable, and though my collection is no where near yours, I quickly whipped mine out of hiding and have been wearing them on a regular basis. thank you for your amazing blog... you have rekindled my love of scarves forever!
Emily in WA
I found your blog through another blog about affordable fashion.
I have to admit that Old Navy is my favorite store. I think almost 3/4 of my entire wardrobe is from that one store. You can get some really cute and great stuff on sale/clearance (and the store tends to put things on sale/clearance rather quickly) and besides, I also feel that the quality of the clothes tend to be better then some of the other cheap clothing stores out there...
I surfed here through a google search for fashion. I love your style because it has given me a springboard to try something new!
I would love to win the Green Bubble necklace...too cute!
My favorite store Banana Republic, so wonderful!
Also, the new little cartoon-version of you in your masthead is adorable! Love it!
Count me in the drawing, and thanks for such a great give-away! S.
I've been reading your blog for about 2 months and you have inspired me to start shopping at the Goodwill. I have picked up lots of Target goodies still with the tags still on them. Also I am getting ready to step out and be a bit more daring with my wardrobe thanks to you. Keep up all of your fab finds!
I found you through acadamichic, and I love your blog because you showcase such style and creativity, and show that these clothes can be worn by someone with some curves :). Love that. So far my best deaal has been a red lightweight trench from Tarjay, it was $19.99, and I had a stranger come up to me at work today and ask where I got it - she just HAD to have one :). I'm going to be investigating my local Goodwill soon, though.
Your blog has been one in a wonderful chain I've recently discovered (I think it went Academichic to Already Pretty to You to Fashion Therapist).
For years I worked in a museum collection surrounded by smelly animals in ethanol, and my wardrobe was entirely things that could get gunked up - and NO JEWELRY when you work with collections. Now I have a fantastic job at another museum and actually get to look fabulous and wear jewelry!
You lovely blogging ladies have also inspired me to start thrifting, and I just got a gorgeous new black dress (Target, never worn) at Goodwill this week!
My best deal ever was a $1300 dining room set I got at Salvation Army for $59. It came from a local furniture store. I found the tag underneath one of the chairs when we were taking it out of the truck. I don't even know if it was ever used. The store still had it for sale at full price. It's shabby chic, and my only guess is that I got it so cheap because the people at Salvation Army thought it was old and beat up. Yay for me!
After I bought my Furla bag in Rome, I never did the Euro to USD conversion because I didn't want to know how much I spent.
Normally when I drive around for my job, during lunch I normally visit the local Target in the city that I am in, which probably explains my collection of Target clothes. There is no Target in the city I was in. I just drove around until I found something. Well--I found a Salvation Army and it was having its 1 day only 50% off sale. I purchased -- Coach sandals, Aldo leather mules, leather belt, Michael Kors denim skirt and gap pants for my mom all for $16.oo. Can you say score!
How I met you..I just googled fashion and found a few sites that listed you as their favorite blog so I had to look. Not sure how long I have been following but I'm fairly new.
I found slicesoflife through flicker from another fashion blog (i'm pretty new to the fashion blogging scene) and I thought your title was awesome. I'm a total bargain hunter, so your blog is up my ally! My favorite store is Anthropologie, but I only shop there during mega sales, and frequent the Gap outlets and Target most often.
Check out this post on my blog, it is by far the best deal on an entire outfit that looks and was originally expensive. I smile every time I think about my $19 outfit:
http://igetdressed.blogspot.com/2009/02/shopping-philosophy.html
I was at portland last month during my midterm break for family vacation. I hit Old Navy on valentines day and they were giving out 5 bucks coupon off anything with no limit. I found a hoodie with colorful cassette tapes all over it on sale, and the total came to 50 cent or so at the end. That's my fab find under 50 recently. :P
My best deal lately was the diesel jacket/sweater thing that retailed for $150 that I got for $15. I love it!
A couple months ago a got an amazing Gap coat in a similar purple color to the one you posted today .. retail was $169 and I got it for $15!
I don't remember when I found your blog but I think I've been reading it for at least 6 months and even shared it with friends. I love what you put together.
I am a pretty classic dresser...but I secretly long to wear everything steampunk!
I found your blog through See Meg Shop and I am ABSOLUTELY hooked - I love it!!
My best deal was an authentic LV Speedy for $3 at my local Thrift Shop. They did not know it was real and I was not about to tell them - LOL!!!
Count me in for the draw.
Thanks.
I can't even remember how I stumbled upon your blog...but I adore it and you inspired me to create my own!
My favourite store is Banana Republic but I find inspiration for outfits and clothing from everyone around me. There will be something they wear that catches my eye and then I go home and try to adapt it!
Great blog and beautiful giveaway!
I am a shopaholic and I love to find deals. About a year ago I searched online for fashion blogs and came across yours among the hundreds of others. Yours was one of the very few that I bookmarked because I identify with you, and I love your creativity with outfits. While I consider myself fashionable, I've picked up some good tips from you...
including, and I've mentioned this before, Etsy. I love jewelry and am always growing my collection, especially vintage pieces. I've already made several purchases on Etsy and I love it. Thanks again!!
I love necklaces, and I'd love this one! ;-)
Best find EVER to this day is when Nordstrom mis-priced a pair of True Religion trouser jeans for $12! Yup - and because that's what the price tag said they had to honor the price. :)
Ooh - love it!!
Hhmm, my best score is all of the Vila styles that I wear as they are FREE!! Yip, being a stockist of the barnd does rock and so does the fact that they are the ONLY brand to make samples in size Medium! I also got my Armani shoe boots in November $29.99(or there abouts after tax) retail $179 and then work in the exchange rate at the time - BARGAIN!!!
Wow I love those necklaces! I actually found your blog through life of a cat nanny, and I absolutely adore the way you mix pattern and texture, I'm taking baby steps, but you certainly help to inspire me daily!!
I found you through Academic Chic. I once found a gorgeous lace column wedding dress at a cancer charity sale similar to a Melissa Sweet dress I'd been dying for. I don't usually have much patience with thrift stores, so I haven't had much luck there.
I love Target! Too bad I have to travel to the US to check it out!
Best deals... I got a pair of shoes for $8.50 and a pair of dress pants for $5 in January. This was all in one week! Woot!
Ok, you make me want to start going to Goodwill like every weekend!!
I wanted to talk about my fave store, called Pretty Girl. It's what people around here call a "ghetto" store, meaning they have a totally random assortment of cheap clothing. I got 5 racer bank long tanks from there (love to layer) for $2 each 3 years ago and they are still in perfect shape! I wear at least 2 every week..Don't judge a book by it's cover!
I've spent waaay too much money on clothes, and boring ones at that! Since I started reading your blog a few months ago, I have been inspired to search for clothes and deals in unexpected places, and to reevaluate what's in my closet and the ways that I can mix things together. Thanks soo much, keep it coming!! :)
Hi Kimberly,
I wish I could shop more thrift, but here in Germany good thrift stores are hard to come by. I shop at H&M a lot here, but when I am back in the States I love Target, Goodwill and the sales racks at BR and J.Crew.
Can't believe they have the gall to retail costume jewelry for $150! The nerve!
Keep up the good work. Cocorico xx
I love Good Will so much! There's one by my work/by the mall that always gets Target's cast offs from the nearby store. So great.
So, yes! Count me in, please.
I am first time visitor to your blog and I love it. My favorite store is Forever21 because I found some really good tops there :)
How did I miss this?
My best deal was the Gap boots I got at the outlet store. I paid $10 for them and as per their w_r appearances, the cost per wear is well below 50 cents! :)
I almost missed this great drawing you are doing! I learned of your site from http://whatiwore2day.blogspot.com. I am so glad I did. I think the best deal i have scored in the last year is a Dooney and Burke handbag at a friends consignment store for $38! I love my purse and use it ALL the time. It was on clearance and I couldn't pass it up.
oo, count me in! I love seeing all the fab outfits you come up with, you are a real style inspiration. I know I've been reading around a year or 18 months, but I can't remember how I found you. Either from you commenting on my blog or from someone elses' blog roll I think.
Target is my lovah! And I've been reading your blog for almost a year. ;O)
I never win anything but it never hurts to try. :O)
Your blog was recommended by google reader and I've been reading for about a month. Thank for all of the great tips!
Very cute! I love your blog. Gotta love Target (and Goodwill)!
I found your blog through Glamour's Slaves to Fashion blog. The necklace is such a lovely color! I would love to win it :)
I've been reading your blog for about six months or so. I found it via another blog, although I'm not sure which one anymore. You are a tremendous bargain shopper with a great style!
One of the best deals I ever found was at a local thrift store...I picked up a cute designer skirt for around $3-4 dollars and the original department store tag was still on it. That store closed about 15 years ago!
I found your blog through flickr (The Chocolate Wonder) about a year ago. I distinctly remember commenting on one of your original outfits used for the first scarf in the sisterhood of the traveling scarves project (part 2) :). In any case, this necklace isn't really my style, but it doesn't hurt to try and win it, I suppose :).
I can't remember how I found your blog, but I'm glad I did!
Marshalls is by far my favorite place to score a deal. Target clearance racks are hit and miss, but I have defintely found some deals there.
i found your blog through glamour- so glad i did!
I love this necklace! It reminds me of my favorite orange one!
We found your blog through the lovely comments you began leaving on ours! We love your budget style -- doable on even a grad student stipend! -- and were so happy to see you featured on Glamour!
Well freak. I don't remember how I found your blog, I don't know that I've ever found a GREAT deal (too impatient and impulsive to look) but if you want I will gush once again about your AMAZING HAIR...
I found your blog when I was looking for a magnifying owl pendant, pretty specific huh? But I check your blogs and some of the other bloggers here almost daily to get fashion ideas from ya'll.
I got to your blog from other blogs...I'm in grad school so I was going for key words of frugal, cheap, and the like. I have gathered sooo much inspiration just from new color combinations to put together and putting use to my grandmother's scarf collection! keep up the lovely work!
I found your blog through wardrobe remix! :)
And I am SOOOO glad I did! :)
hi,
I am a huge fan of yours and love to check in daily for style inspiration and many congratulations becoz I saw you today on the glamor website and lastly I absolutely love the blue necklace, infact I never saw it at our local store and would be beyond delighted to win it
arti
I found you from stalking gosh knows how many other blogs! Since then I come back daily to see what you have pulled together. Can you just come and go thru my closet and match me up some outfits? I am excited to partake in the traveling scarves!
I am a mom with 2 kids who has forgotten what fashion is for the last 5 years!!! I feel so outdated and frumpy that I googled to find out what latest trends are so I can update my sorry wardrobe...and here I am!
I know you wanted to hear about great deals ..but I haven't shopped for myself in years!! Would love to get something chic to wear for a change, though!
I actually found your Blog through Ally at Cute on the Cheap...now, after reading Cute on the Cheap and your blog, I am addicted to reading fashion blogs. Its nice to get to see what people wear to work...I have to dress up for work but work in a very conservative enviroment, and I have to wear safety shoes..there is only so much you can do with Chef Clogs!
I know I'm late, but count me in too!
Check your blog daily. love the ideas and the traveling scarf. you have prompted me to start wearing one....
Found your blog when I was searching for outfits under $50 - I check your site regularly and use your outfits for inspiration!
My best deal was new Cole Haan black loafers at a thrift store for $3.
Love the necklace. I've had a turquoise necklace on my wishlist for awhile and haven't found the right one. Hopefully my luck is changing.
Love your blog, it's the first thing I check in the morning!
first off i love turquoise jewelry especially this time of the year and that necklace also reminds me of a van cleef and arpels necklace eva mendes wore with a simple white dress and it looked beautiful!!
I have to be honest. I've had a hard time thinking about a great bargain I've gotten. Most of my best finds I post on my blog, and I still wish I had picked up those Jessica Simpson shoes. I had been pining over a Bill Cosby looking sweater at American Eagle about a year ago. I have no real use for such a sweater but it was too cute to not want to grab it. It was a steep $50 and I knew I just wouldn't wear it that often so I left it on the rack. I went back every so often, and even when it went on sale, the price just still wasn't what I would deem reasonable for the amount of use it would get. Wandering through Marshall's one afternoon about 6 months later however I spotted the same sweater for $12! I scooped it up and ran to the register. I wore it only once before it shrunk to much smaller, unwearable proportions. Maybe funky designs are best left for the Cosby Show after all.
My last thrifting adventure resulted in a Salvatore Ferregamo handbag (the real thing, with authentic lining and hardware) for $7! What a buzz!

Lovely necklace! My best deal to date was when I went to Ann Taylor Loft to return a pair of black denim trousers that I ordered on line during the holiday season. The SA proceeded to refund me when she said, "Are you sure you want to return these pants, they are only $4.88." Of course I was excited because I was returning them because they were too long and didn't want to pay to have them tailored. I paid $35 for them on line (original price $59). What a score!
I found your blog through Oh That Girl and I've been hooked every since!
